Cleveland Clinic Bikes EVENTS

Congratulations Team Cleveland Clinic in the Pan Ohio Ride to support the American Cancer Society Hope Lodges in Ohio.  They were the number one team in number of riders (more than 30) and funds raised (more than $25,000!) For more information, including how to donate, and pictures of the ride click here.

Team Cleveland Clinic will be participating in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure ride June 13th at Blossom Music Center.  We are dedicating our ride this year to Jeffrey H. Combs, a Cleveland Clinic employee who died suddenly last year as a result of the disease (Jeff's parents and sister are also Cleveland Clinic employees).  We are looking for both riders to join us and those just wishing to make a monetary contribution.

Halloween Hike and Bike

Congratulations to all the Cleveland Clinic employees and their families who came out on a sunny but cool day to explore the Towpath Trail.  We had representation from main campus, the Family Health Centers and our community hospitals.  Thanks to the Cleveland Metroparks for use of the CanalWay Center, and to H2Cool for donating the water.

Family members of all ages enjoyed the Hike and Bike.

Ben Weinstein from Huron Hospital and his family enjoyed a great bike ride together.

Chris Butson, Ph.D., from Lerner Research Institute tried out the new mountain bike trail.

The Pauer Family enjoyed the Towpath Trail.  (All photos by Isabela Pauer)

Remember, you can hike or bike anytime at your local Cleveland Metropark.  For a list of parks and maps of trails click here.

According to the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine*, physical activity reduces the risk of coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, depression, and cancer of the breast and colon. (CCJM, Vol 72, Number 8, August 2005.)
